We continue our collaboration with the Village of Sleepy Hollow at beautiful Kingsland Point Park!

We are excited to present a mix of world traditions from countries far and wide, with artists including maferbandola.com/ to explore the music and dance of the Llanero tradition of Venezuela, folk music and dance from Ukraine, and mehrnamrastegari.com/ to share the ancient Persian traditions of Iran.  We're also excited to bring Jazz Forum Arts' Jitterbug jazz program for kids with saxophonist and educator Neal Spitzer, Peruvian percussionist and educator Hector Morales, Dancer and Choreographer Daniel Fetecua, among others.  This year we are excited to invite Subomi McCauley "The African Storyteller", will have yoga week 1 with Stephany Olivieri, and will be bringing on a nature specialist for weeks 2-3 to do nature activities with our students.  Each week will feature art projects with our Art Director Melissa Lohman-Wild, and week 2-3 theater with Jill Liflander of Jilly Puppets.among others.

Campers annually work with theater artists like Jill Liflander (@jillypuppets) who leads our campers in movement, theater, and storytelling activities around our cultural themes and TAC's art director Melissa Lohman-Wild (@wildartandplay, early childhood teacher at Little Leaf Preschool) who leads thoughtful, nature inspired daily visual art activities all 3 weeks.

Campers will be grouped by age and led in arts-related workshops and recreational activities around the cultural theme each day, with breaks for snack and lunch. Activities include: music, dance, theater, visual art, as well as counselor-led sports activities throughout the week.  Your kids will get LOTS of exercise walking this vast park under the shade of the beautiful trees at Kingsland Point Park!

Our older campers (Gr. 1-4) can stay for our afternoon extension program, campers grouped by age.
Peter Royston
and his Anywhere Theater has in the past led Afternoon Theater inspired by our cultural theme this year for our 3rd/4th graders and Jamie Vanegas of iD Studio Theater has led our Theater Creation for our youngest campers.  Stay tuned for upcoming announcements.

Last year campers explored rhythm through the cultures of the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the USA, with renowned jazz, Latin, and classical artists, including musicians from Los Quisqueyanos (Dominican Republic), dancers Devin Flores and Vira Lee (social dances like salsa and dances of the Dominican Republic, including merengue and bachata)!  In addition, Peruvian percussionist Hector Morales with "bucket drumming," tap and hip hop dancer Funmi Sofola, Afro-Cuban clave and montunos with Colombian pianist Pablo Mayor and improvisation on the flute with charanga musician Connie Grossman.  In addition, campers enjoyed dancing with Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, bilingual music wtih Musiquita.

Previous themes include:  the culture and arts of South America... Argentina with singer, actor, dancer, and educator Facundo Augustín, harpist and educator Nicolás Carter who specializes in the traditions of Paraguay, and renowned percussionist and educator Hector Morales from Peru, in addition to other renowned South American guest artists.
